Happy New Years!!

It's 2021 #fitfam and I am pumped!! Everyone knows 2020 was a crazy tough year but I still think it's important to reflect on the year and move forward with purpose, direction, and light.
Since Thanksgiving, I have been reflecting on the year and all the things I was grateful for as well as the things that I want to leave behind. I won't be too personal but I will share the prompts that I have spent time journaling.
What am I most proud of last year?
What challenges did I overcome?
What behaviors or habits am I consciously unlearning?
What type of person do I want to become this year?
What feelings and experiences do I want more of in my life this year?
I'll also forward a reflection from Atomic Habits that James Clear shared in his Thursday newsletter:
"Improvements are only temporary until they become part of who you are.
-The goal is not to read a book, the goal is to become a reader.
-The goal is not to run a marathon, the goal is to become a runner.
-The goal is not to learn an instrument, the goal is to become a musician.
This year, focus on the identity you want to build."
Finally, I'll leave you with a couple of quotes from a book I read in 2020 (and is now an absolute favorite), Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein.
“The more confident a learner is of their wrong answer, the better the information sticks when they subsequently learn the right answer. Tolerating big mistakes can create the best learning opportunities.”
“The precise person you are now is fleeting, just like all the other people you’ve been. That feels like the most unexpected result, but it is also the most well documented.”
“We learn who we are only by living, and not before.”
“Be careful not to be too careful“, Delbrück warned, "or you will unconsciously limit your exploration.”

Thinking about this past year, I can't possibly leave out the Artist Accountability group!
This year, I joined an Artist Accountability group that my sister mediates. I attribute much of my success to this group because it helped me so much keep my WHY in focus when creating goals each month to move forward. The support from the group forced me to celebrate my wins, which helped build confidence and pride. I adore this group and am so thankful for all the help and guidance I have recieved in the past year, and would highly recommend it!!
If you are interested in joining, check it out at www.noisynest.com/aa <3
However you are choosing to start your year, I wish you a year of happiness, health and gratitude.
I hope you'll join me on Mondays, starting the week out with some movement and quality time with your body.
Now, let's go set intentions and smash goals. Happy 2021!!
